Standing Desk Attachment
During my first semester at Bentley, I had chosen to stand while working, stacking books on top of each other to get my laptop to the right height. My wife hinted that it might be nice if I could remove my setup from the kitchen counter where I had set up shop. The book stacks had to go! This was a great opportunity to get my hands dirty and put some of what I had learned at school to work.
I first identified my needs: portable, adjustable, and cheap. I then used Google SketchUp to model a few different ideas and finally settled on the adjustable design. Next step was to rapidly build my first prototype (pictures below). During the first few weeks of using the new setup, I started taking notes on how to improve it directly on the wood surface, which was an incredible experience.
Prototype 2 is in the works!
